What’s Included in a Newborn Session
Your newborn photography session includes time in our quiet newborn studio with multiple beautifully styled setups. We take a baby-led approach so your little one stays relaxed, warm, and comfortable throughout the session. Parent and sibling portraits can be included if desired, and all posing is done safely with expert newborn handling. Every detail is taken care of so you can simply arrive, relax, and enjoy the experience.
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled between 10 and 21 days. Our favorite age is right around 3 weeks. However, we regularly schedule newborns up to 6-8 weeks.

Newborn Session Pricing
Your newborn session is reserved with $290 Booking Fee. After your session, you’ll select your favorite images and choose the collection that fits your needs best. Image collections begin at $890 and include digital images with the option to add heirloom artwork. You only purchase what you love.
Is It Too Late for Newborn Photos?
Our preferred age for newborn sessions is 10–21 days, when babies tend to be sleepiest and more easily posed. However, it is absolutely not too late if your baby has already arrived. As an Austin newborn photographer, I regularly photograph babies up to 6–8 weeks old and adjust each session based on your baby’s stage, comfort, and temperament. If your baby is already 3, 4, or even 6 weeks old, we can still create a beautiful newborn gallery for your family.
How to book your session:
I. Scheduling Your Newborn Portrait Session
Newborn portraits are ideally captured when babies are still sleepy and naturally curled. Our preferred age range is 10 to 21 days, although babies up to six weeks old can still be photographed beautifully.
To secure availability, your session is tentatively reserved based on your due date and the final date is confirmed once your baby arrives.
II. PLANNING Your SESSION
Before your newborn session with Austin Newborn Photography, you will complete our Comprehensive Session Planning Questionnaire. This serves as your virtual consultation and allows you to share your color preferences, styling details, and overall vision for your baby’s portraits.
Using your input, we design beautifully coordinated setups featuring soft textures, fine art fabrics, and carefully selected props. Our studio is fully prepared before you arrive so the focus can stay on your baby.
III. THE Day OF YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
Your session will take place in our comfortable, fully stocked North Austin studio.
We provide everything needed for your baby’s comfort, including wraps, layers, blankets, backdrops, and handmade accessories. You can simply arrive, relax, and enjoy the experience while we gently and safely pose your little one.
Sessions typically last up to 2 hours with time built in for feeding and soothing.
Iv. Viewing and Selecting Your Images
After your session, we’ll share the current turnaround time for image processing. When your proof gallery is ready, you’ll receive instructions on how to view your images and select your favorites. You’ll have the option to upgrade your collection and include heirloom artwork designed to beautifully complement your home.
